After fifteen years of working at a high level as a corporate lawyer, consultant, researcher, lecturer, and facilitator in three countries/ languages, and experiencing a lot of frustration trying to choose just one thing to be in life, I realized that my unusual combination of interests and skills was a strength, not a liability.
Before that big realisation, I had achieved what most people would dream of professionally or financially.
I was successful towards the outside. I could fake how I felt at work but when I returned home I felt empty.
I felt stuck for years. I turned on the auto pilot and just kept on following the expected career path for a successful lawyer.
To fit in, I kept rejecting, hidding and not fully acknowledging parts of myself which made me work harder not to feel what I was doing to myself.
Then I burned out.
So my question to you is what does success, wealth, happiness, and abundance mean to you?
Now, my own definition of success starts from within, looking inside, defined by my own standards and aligned with my values.
True fulfillment doesn’t lie in external validation, status or chasing a one-size-fits-all definition of success.
